They say the eyes are the windows to the soul...  and I believe that.  I think that if anything, your eyes are one of the easiest features to accentuate, even if its just with a good curl and coat of mascara.

My 'Frugal Find' today is one that I couldn't live without.  I use it EVERY day before I apply my mascara.   It's E.L.F. (eyes lips face) Essential Mechanical Eyelash Curler and guess what,... ITS A BUCK!!!! Yep, $1.  Hard to believe that something this cheap would actually work, but it does.  I actually find myself 99% of the time grabbing this one over my pricey Shu Uemura eye lash curler (which is also great BTW).
It's so well made and very sturdy.  It has a nice curve to it which is great for all eye shapes and it has a silicone rubber pad that allows the appropriate amount of pressure to curl lashes naturally.
If curling your lashes isn't part of your every day routine, I highly suggest splurging on this baby to help open up your eyes and allowing your soul to shine!  You won't be disappointed!

I have to admit, I love shoes..  Lets face it, what women doesn't :)  When I got married though, my shoes were less than comfortable.  They looked great, but boy can beauty kill.

If only TOMS were around back then.  I have a few pair of them now and pretty much wear them everyday.
Picture

Check out these beauties.  Shiny, pretty AND comfortable.  The perfect wedding shoe if you ask me!  Oh ya, and if your not familiar with TOMS, with every pair of shoes purchased, they donate a pair to a child in need.  So your also doing a good deed too.

Not too sure if you've heard about all the buzz on these babies, but they are well worth trying out.  I've been wearing my 'Bold Gold' almost on a daily basis and I'm IN LOVE!

The Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Eyeshadow are being compared to MAC Paint Pots, and if I do say so myself, they are a pretty great 'dupe' at a fraction of the price.

Picture
They come in 10 colors ranging from bright blue, purple and orange to matte taupe and gold.

I personally don't wear alot of color, so I went with Bold Gold, Tough as Taupe and Bad to the Bronze.  They're all highly pigmented, easy to use (I apply with my finger) and really do wear for a long time.  I haven't tried to wear them for 24hours, but I'm sure they would if I was ever in need of looking great for 24hours...

You can wear them on their own or use them as a base/primer for your other powder shadows.  I was wearing Bad to the Bronze the other day, and before I went to the gym, I tried to wipe a bit off with a tissue (like I normally do with regular powder shadows) and it didn't smudge.  There wasn't a single spec of color on the tissue!  These are going to be great for the Summer heat... I can just tell...

Picture
As I mentioned, they are a great dupe for MAC Paint Pots.  Infact, you can even switch the lids on them.  The textures are so similar as well, if not identical.

As a professional Makeup Artist, I would proudly use these in my kit.  If only they had a few more neutral colors...

If you haven't pick one of these up, I suggest you do.  I got mine for about $6 each and I think I'll go get a few more bolder colors for my kit.

Have you tried them yet?  What are your favorites?

I am a gloss girl through and through.  Sure, give me a great lipstick and I'll rock it, but I won't leave the house with out a coat of gloss (or tinted balm), it just makes me feel a little more 'put together'.
I was at the post office a few weeks ago, which also happens to be a Rexal and I stumbled upon the cosmetic section.... (by stumbled, I mean I always go to this post office as it has a cosmetic department :)  It was having a sale on there NYC Cosmetics.  Now, normally I pass on REALLY cheap makeup, but something was calling me to try one.  Boy, am I sure glad I did.  I picked up one of there Liquid Lip Shines in Fashion Avenue Fuchsia #579.  It's a beautiful bright color and ended up ONLY being $1.49  WHAT A STEAL!
Now they 'claim' the benefits are pure pigments, 3D-effect shine, the lips feel moisturized creamy and soft texture and are non-sticky and I agree with most of their claims.  However, I find the color to be a bit sheerer then it looks.  I like this though as I prefer a suttle statement look on an daily basis.  The texture is nice, not necissarly moisturizing, but nice.  It has great shine, but doesn't last long, maybe 2 hours.  I do like though that the color sticks around after the shine is gone.
I wouldn't quite call it a doe foot applicator, but more of an elongated doe foot.  It bends a bit while applying which makes it easier to apply it precisly.
It's a beautiful Fuchsia, almost a Raspberry if you will.  It's sheer, but buildable.
It gives a great pop of color and I'm sure it's going to be one of my favorite Summer colors.  If I find them on sale again, I will definatly be picking up a few more colors!

What are your favorite 'frugal' lip glosses?

I have found my new FAVORITE lip product. It's not a lipstick, not a lip balm but rather the perfect combination of the two.
About a month ago I had been reading all these beauty blogs about these so called 'lip butters' by Revlon.  They were getting rave reviews and I knew I had to get my hands on one (or 4, to start).  They hadn't come out in Canada yet, but I was watching like a hawk, EVERYWHERE!  I finally found them at London Drugs a few weeks ago, and decided to pick just one up, just incase I didn't like them... that, and the fact that I had read they were selling for $7-10 bucks.  London Drugs had them for closer to $13 and I'm a 'frugal' mama.

Picture
These babies are buttery, moisturizing and really feel like a lip balm on the lips.  Which is perfect for my winter dry lips.  The colors are sheer, but buildable and have a nice shine almost like a gloss.  I'm not a lipstick fan, but prefer a little more color than a tinted lip balm.  They really remind me of Dior Addict Lipstick, or even MAC Slim Shine, with a little less pigment.

Picture
Cream Brulee is a soft beige, great for everyday or paired with a dark smokey eye
Picture
Peach Parfait is the only one that has a slight glitter to it. It's the color that Emma Stone is wearing in their ad. It's not as orange as it appears on her though
Picture
Strawberry Shortcake is one of my FAVORITES! It's a soft opaque blue pink. It'll look great this summer with a tan
Picture
I hate this photo.... the photo doesn't do the color justice. Red Velvet is the must get color. If you see one at a store near you, pick it up. You won't be sorry! It's SO shiney and not matte like most red lipsticks
Picture
This is the Red Velvet. I LOVE how it makes my eyes pop!
Overall, I give the Color Burst Lip Butters from Revlon a 10 out of 10.  They have a ton of colors to choose from, staying power is great and texture is AMAZING!  Definitely recommend picking one or ALL of them up next time your out.  I found Walmart to have the best price at $7.99.  If you find them cheaper, PLEASE let me know :)

              Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!
What are your plans for the big LOVE day?  Last night we had our celebrations :)  Simple and sweet, spent with my two favorite people.  We ordered in pizza had a good old lazy night.  PERFECT, if you ask me.  I'm not into going to busy Restaurant's with tons of people.... though I do enjoy the chocolate's.  Flowers die, and I think being loved should be an every day thing.  Don't ya think?  I wouldn't turn down though, if the hubs had something special planned (wink wink).

For numer 14 of my Loved products, I've choosen the perfect red lipstick.  I actually own two of them :)  One for my clients, and of course one for myself.
NARS Red Lizard lipstick is THE perfect red and is such a fun way to add a pop of red to your Valentines look.  I'm even debating wearing it to a wedding I'm going to this weekend :)  This baby is BOLD and though not for the faint at heart, it's perfect for everyone.  It has just the right amount of blue/orange undertones to work with any skin tone.  It's a semi-matte lipstick that has a patented blend of conditioners and antioxidants that help hydrate, nourish and protect lips.  If your not into matte lipsticks, you can easily add a touch of clear gloss to the center of your pout to soften the look.

For number 13, I choose a product that I've been using for YEARS! (seriously, like 25 years)  This is one of those products that my mom used when I was a little girl (and she still uses it).  So when I grew up and came time for me to by lotion, its what I knew worked.
What I love most about Vaseline Aloe Fresh lotion is that I can use it year round.  In the dry winter weather, it gives me the hydration I need and in the Summer, it helps soothe sun kissed skin.  Its light, yet super moisturizing and has aloe in it which helps hydrate the skin leaving it so soft and smooth.

So I had this post nearly finished and I accidently DELETED IT!!!!  Ahhh.... Technology, you are my arch nemesis
   Lets try this again.....

OPI has THE best nail polishes :)  Not only are the colors amazing, the names are great to boot!
One of my favorite go to colors is 'Makes Men Blush'. It's a great milky pink with a slight shimmer.  Great for everyday.  I find all OPI nail polishes to be easy to apply, fast drying and like most nail polishes, need 2-3 coats.
This color is great for Brides!  Simple, clean, BEAUTIFUL!  Oh, and it's great with a tan too :)

Marcelle is one of my favorite Canadian Beauty companies.  It's Hypo-Allergenic and perfume free.  Perfect for sensitive skin like my own.
I've been using their Soothing Eye Make-Up Remover Gel for YEARS now and love it!  But I've been reading about their new eye makeup remover that claims to strengthen and 'fortify' your lashes.  I'M SOLD!  Not that my lashes are damaged, I just want to have them to be in optimal condition.  So when I say this at my local store the other day, I HAD to pick one up to see what the hype is about.
Renforcils Waterproof Eye Make-Up Remover is working great so far.  Very similar to the gel texture of the old soothing eye makeup remover and removes all of my mascara which I love.  It's far to early to tell if my lashes are in better shape, but like most products who claim to repair, etc you have to give them a good month or longer to see their effects.
I'll do a review in a month or so to tell you if this is going to be my new favorite remover :)

  Avène Thermal Spring Water
is the perfect pick you up in the afternoon.  It's thermal water in an arosole type container that you can apply after cleansing and before moisturizing to add some extra hydration to dry skin.  Or great to help 'finish' and set your makeup.  It's light, fresh and feels oh so good in these dry winter months.
I'm planning on bringing one of these mini's with me on my trip to China in April.  Altitude can do a number on your skin, so a great way to look fresh after a 13 hour flight, is to spritz your skin throughout your travel (and be sure to drink lots of water) and you'll feel hydrated and alive once you land.

Number 7 is a multitasker.  NYX Cosmetics (pronounced 'Nicks') has a variety of colors in their Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils.  My personal favorite is 'Milk'.  It's great as a brow highlighter,   you can use it on the waterline to give an awake look, as highlight in the inner corners of the eye, as an eyeshadow and though they don't sell it as a primer, it does that really well too.  Though I suggest, if your prone to oily lids, use an eye primer first before applying it for better results.
Here's what NYX has to say about them:
- A radiant eye liner that also doubles as an eye shadow. Made with a blend of mineral oil and powder, our creamy Jumbo Eye Pencils glide on effortlessly—no pulling, tugging or fading—and come in a rainbow of vivid hues. Some call her chubby. We say voluptuous. Available in 28 shades.

If your looking for that perfect eyeliner to match your eyeshadow, look no further. Lise Watier has the solution.  Literally ;)  MÉTAMORFIX LIQUID TRANSFORMER is just that.  A magical solution that turns any eye shadow into a long lasting eye liner.
Just add a drop to the top of your eye shadow container lid.  With your favorite liner brush, dip it into the liquid and then into the eyeshadow.  It creates a instant liquid liner.
No need to by another liner again!

Today's LOVE pick is one that makes you go 'hmmm'.
As I had mentioned, I'm a mama who since having my girl has tightened the rain on my beauty spending.  One of those products was on lip gloss.  I LOVE Lancome 'Juicy Tubes'.  Like LOVE LOVE.. Their texture is wonderful, they come in a great variety of colors and their easy to apply on the go.
BUT at upwards of $20 a pop (and the fact I loose gloss like nobody's business) I figured I'd give Loreal's Colour Juice lip gloss a try.
I've know this for a while (actually since my makeup school days over 8 years ago), that Lancome and Loreal were owned by the same company...YEP, THEY ARE THE SAME COMPANY (just with different names and price points)...  Juicy tube.... Color Juice....YEP YEP.  SAME COMPANY!!  Same tube, similar colors, texture.... Made most likely in the same processing plant.  WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO TRY THESE BABIES OUT!!!  I'll NEVER go back to Juicy Tubes (unless given to me as a gift of course) and the best part ladies, you can get 4, count them FOUR tubes of gloss for the price of one.  Life doesn't get much better than that.  Try out 'Watermelon Crush' a nice soft pink great for everyday and one of my fav's!
SEE, They look like Twins (ok maybe fraternal) but still VERY similar
